Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lumileds.
Lead Engineer
The interview process was pretty well put together and quick. The recruiter kept me in the loop, and the panel threw some good questions my way that checked my tech knowledge and how I solve problems. They seemed really keen to find the right person. All in all, it was a chill and respectful interview experience.
- Tell me about your experience with handling different types of equipment.
Engineer
It was a telephone interview, then a really long in-person interview that lasted 4 to 6 hours. It kicked off with me doing a 45 minute technical presentation. The instructions for the presentation were kind of vague and not great. Apparently, the feedback was that the presentation should have been about my past job experience – like what I did, how I did it, and what the outcome was.
- Do you know the CIE xy chromaticity diagram?
Equipment Engineer
The interview process was straightforward, and they told me the salary upfront, which was helpful for making a decision. The HR representative was professional and followed up closely.
- Can you discuss your technical knowledge and how you will contribute to the role?
