First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lufthansa Systems.
Software Developer
First I had a recruiter call about my background, then an online test on Hackerrank where I had to solve 2 JS problems out of 15 questions, and finally an in-person assessment center which involved system design and debating.
- Tell me about your past experiences
- Can you solve these 2 JavaScript tasks?
- Let's do a system design exercise together
Software Developer
So first, I had a chat with HR, which was standard. After that, there was a written test. It had 5 questions focused on C and C++ programming, and I had about an hour and a half to finish it. Honestly, it felt doable within the time limit. I got the feeling they weren't so much looking for perfectly correct answers, but more to see if you could 'think' through the problems.
- Tell me about your previous teamworking experiences.
- What are your thoughts on C and C++ programming?
Software Engineer
It was a three round process. First was a recruiter call that lasted about 45 minutes. They asked me why I wanted to work for them, why I was leaving my current role, and about my language skills. Nothing out of the ordinary there. After that, I had a 1.5 hour professional test with 10 questions covering basic topics like design patterns, threads, UML, databases, and some basic Java questions. About two weeks later, I had a face-to-face professional interview with a team lead. We talked for about an hour about the technologies I've used. Finally, I interviewed with a manager who gave me a quick overview of Lufthansa and their current projects. He also asked a few personal questions, similar to the first round.
