iOS Engineer
So I was contacted by a recruiter about 7 months back, they seemed in a hurry to fill the role. They sent me a technical task, which I completed. However, they then said they were putting the position on hold. About a month ago, the recruiter reached out again to set up an HR interview, which I passed. After that, we arranged a technical interview, which I also passed. The next step was a final interview with a manager. The email called it a 'friendly face-to-face video call,' but I asked the recruiter for more details on the interview type. She mentioned it would be behavioral with some technical questions. During the interview, the manager asked about my personal experiences and my views on certain technical topics. Towards the end, with about 15 minutes left, he unexpectedly threw in a system design question. It was quite surprising, especially for a company focused on SDK development, and in what was described as a 'friendly' interview. While I don't mind system design questions in general, the lack of clarity about this interview's format was frustrating, making for a disappointing experience with a company that's supposed to be reputable.

i filled out the application online and a few weeks later i got a call for an on site interview. that interview was just HR questions and about 4 or 5 multiple choice technical questions. that was the first part. a few days later, i got an email saying i passed phase one. phase two was an iOS challenge where i had to build an app that calls REST APIs and i had a week to do it. after i submitted it, they sent me a rejection email. i asked for feedback and they gave me detailed feedback on my iOS challenge.

The interview process involved 4 steps: first, an initial chat with HR (a video call with a super friendly and professional interviewer who was really smart and asked some great questions). Second, a coding task where I had to build a specific Swift framework. Third, a technical interview. Finally, a meeting with the CEO.
- Can you share some details about your personality, how you work, and your general behaviors? Also, can we do a background check?
- I need you to complete a coding task where you'll build a specific iOS framework.
