I got a call from an HR recruiter who wanted to set up a meeting/interview with an engineer. During the interview process, I was asked six engineering questions. The questions were about sheet loss under normal engine conditions, efficiency loss, SIMULINK principles, and power transfer in a car. Even though the topics were engineering related, the questions were framed to test how well I could explain them.

The process started with a recruiter call to check my background, then a hiring manager call. After that, there was a 5-6 hour onsite with several people, including a 1-hour presentation about my relevant past work. The recruiter was a bit disorganized; the first call didn't happen, and I went straight to the hiring manager. Later, I was told I was rejected, then I got a notification that the company wanted to proceed, and my interview with the hiring team was in 2 hours. This was another 1-hour call where a team lead asked about my past experience. The final round got rescheduled a few times. They didn't seem super focused on my specific work and asked general questions, plus a coding question in C++ or Python, depending on my comfort.

First was a call with a recruiter who surprisingly asked some basic engineering equations like Young's modulus, Ohm's Law, Electrical Power, and Hooke's Law. Then a call with the hiring manager where we talked about my work experience, nothing else. After that, a panel interview with a presentation. It was a 10-minute presentation followed by questions. There were 4 panels, each with 2 interviewers. They asked full technical questions, covering my background and scenarios they are currently working on. All the interviewers were really friendly. The questions were in-depth, which was good.
