First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lucid Motors.
Program Manager
I had a really terrible interview experience that went on for over three months. It started with a recruiter call, then a team member interview that got rescheduled multiple times. The interviewer seemed distracted. After that, I heard nothing for three weeks. Then they scheduled a hiring manager interview, which was fine, followed by four more rounds with team members. Some people on the panel didn't know anything about the role, and one interview had to be rescheduled. Two other interviews were added last minute without checking my availability. After nine rounds over three months, there was still no final response from the recruiter. It was a complete waste of time.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Can you describe some of your projects?
- Can you tell me about a difficult situation you encountered?
Program Manager
I applied online and got a response a month later to set up an interview via an email link. On the interview day, I clicked the link and waited, but the recruiter didn't show up. After 5 minutes, I emailed them, but got no response. The HR rep called around 15 minutes into the scheduled 30-minute slot, explaining IT issues, which was fine. We rescheduled for the afternoon, and they said they'd call directly. In the afternoon, 5 minutes into the 30-minute slot, no call. I checked the link again, still nothing. After 15 minutes into the slot, I emailed the HR rep to confirm the time or reschedule if needed, but got no response. Over a week later, still nothing. I decided not to follow up, as this experience made me question how it might be working there. I was really excited about the role, but this reality check changed my mind.
- Were there any questions asked by the HR representative during the scheduled interview times?
Program Manager
It was a pretty standard interview process. Started with a call from the recruiter, then there were several interviews. Most of the interviews were focused on behavioral questions, asking about past experiences. They also touched on program management concepts, so it would be good to brush up on those. The people were great, and the company has a strong engineering culture and interesting technology. In the end, I decided not to accept the offer due to concerns about the company's long-term viability and success compared to other options I had.
