The hiring process took about a month from the initial recruiter call to the final offer, involving four distinct interviews. It was quite a lengthy process requiring convincing multiple people. I had an interview almost every week. The panel interview was about 2.5 hours long. Overall, my experience was very good, and the recruiter was great. The hiring process was incredibly streamlined.

The recruiter reached out on LinkedIn and we had an initial chat for about 30 minutes, where they looked at my resume. Then, about 3-4 weeks later, the recruiter set up a 45-minute interview with the team lead. We did a general introduction, went over my resume, and they asked questions about my craftsmanship knowledge and how I'd fit the role. We also had time for Q&A.

Behavioral Technical

I interviewed remotely for a design engineer role, but unfortunately, I was ghosted. This was my second attempt interviewing with Lucid, and the first time also had coordination issues. I applied online and a recruiter reached out within days to schedule an initial phone screen. They gave me a basic rundown of the job and asked about relocation and salary expectations. A week later, a different recruiter contacted me for another phone screen, asking similar questions and probing for more technical details about materials I've worked with and my relevant experience. Next was a 45-minute Zoom with a senior engineer where I discussed my past experiences and answered some technical questions. I was then set up to speak with the manager, but they no-showed twice, and I was ultimately ghosted. Throughout the process, I was told the company is growing rapidly, expanding from 900 employees pre-Covid to nearly 3000 now. It's surprising they've grown so much given their slow response times, and it felt like they weren't genuinely invested in moving my application forward. This experience has been disappointing, and I doubt I'll apply again. My previous interview with Lucid in 2019 also lacked professionalism; the recruiter mentioned an onsite interview three times, only to retract it via email each time, citing a mistake. Two months ago, I reapplied, seeing Lucid's momentum, especially after the CCIV merger. If you're considering applying, I suggest exploring other options simultaneously. Don't rely solely on this opportunity, as no-shows and ghosting seem common, showing a lack of respect for candidates' time.
