Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lubrizol.
Marketing
I went through a few interviews. First, I talked to the recruiter. Then, I interviewed with the hiring manager. After that, I had to complete an online assessment. Then, I interviewed with the HR manager. The final interview was with the hiring manager and a manager from another division. They said they would make an offer the first week of November. I didn't realize they wouldn't tell candidates if they didn't get the job. About two and a half weeks later, I asked the recruiter about the status and was told the position was filled. Then I got an email saying they weren't moving forward with me.
- Can you share an instance from your past role that exemplified our "All-In" principle?
- Would you be willing to act as a consultant for other divisions if requested?
Marketing Placement
I had a telephone interview and was successful in getting it. Two polite and professional people interviewed me. I was not informed that there would be competency-based questions, as the email stated that the interview would be based on the information in my C.V. I was told that I would be contacted with feedback/outcome of the interview within one week. I didn't hear anything for a month and my status on my application on the careers website did not change from 'in process' the whole time. I only heard back when I emailed them myself to ask why I hadn't heard.
- How did you handle a disagreement with someone more senior than you?
Marketing
The team was super accommodating and really nice, especially since I was traveling internationally at the time. We managed to find a good solution. During the interview, everyone was friendly and pleasant. We chatted about the role, my background, related topics, and marketing projects I've done. They also asked about my knowledge of the company and what interests me about joining.
- Can you tell me about relevant courses you've taken in school and provide specific examples of how they connect?
- What are some of the courses you took in school and how do they relate? Please give some specific examples.
