It was a 4-person panel interview where they asked a lot about machine learning, deep learning, and transformers models, plus a bit about Gen AI. They were really checking if I had a deep understanding of all these topics. The questions were tough, but if you know the models really well and understand why certain situations pop up and how to handle them, you can get through it.

I went to the LTI Mindtree Kolkata office for an in-person interview. The process had two rounds. First was an automated assessment (iBot) with multiple choice and scenario questions about Generative AI basics and recent developments. Then, an in-person technical interview covering my resume, specifically my Generative AI projects (architecture, tech, impact). They also asked basic ML questions (algorithm selection, model evaluation, overfitting) and Python questions (logic, functions, syntax). There was also a design question about building an SQL bot that takes natural language input and gives database query results.

The interview process included two technical rounds then a managerial round. I am an ex-Mindtree employee and left the company due to amazing people in the management and impeccable policies (which includes internal politics). During the interview, I openly discussed the challenges I faced, and the HR acknowledged that those issues existed but mentioned that most of them had been addressed. Despite clearing all the rounds and submitting the required documents, I didn’t receive an offer letter due to feedback from my previous team. That’s when I understood why the HR said most issues were resolved, but not all.
