Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LPL Financial.
Consultant
The interview process started off pretty standard. First, I spoke with an HR representative who seemed to be qualifying me for the role, asking typical questions about the company. This was before salaries were usually listed on job descriptions, so it wasn't mentioned. When they asked about my salary expectations, I felt I was in line with the requirements given my 25+ years of experience, but the interview ended shortly after because we couldn't agree on salary.
- What are your salary expectations for this role?
Communication Consultant
LPL got in touch shortly after my online application. The initial phone screen was pretty standard, and the recruiter was nice. Unfortunately, there was no follow-up communication. It's wild how many places use automated systems to reject resumes, but then don't use similar tech to send a basic rejection after you've already interviewed.
- What's prompting your job search?
Solutions Consultant
There were two interview rounds. The first was with HR where they asked basic questions, your desired salary, and then the second was with multiple people who asked about your experience with past advisors and different situations you’ve had or technology you’ve used.
- How have you handled difficult client situations in the past?
- Tell me about a difficult situation you faced with an advisor.
- Can you share your experience working with previous advisors?
