First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lowenstein Sandler.
Billing Coordinator
The interview experience with Lowestein Sandler was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. They put me through a four-round interview process, which I found excessive and burdensome, especially when balancing it with my current job responsibilities. I had interviews with HR, the Office Admin, the Director of Revenue, and finally, the partner and executive assistant. I felt confident in my performance throughout, effectively addressing all questions and presenting my qualifications for the role I was eager to secure. However, I was appall to learn that they needed to interview two candidates for the final round, prolonging the process to over a month. On May 6th, I received the disappointing news that they opted for the other candidate. While I extend my best wishes to her, I can't help but feel frustrated at the investment of time and effort, only to face rejection in the end. I believe my time should have been respected, particularly after progressing so far in the interview stages. I urge HR and the entire department to reconsider their approach to hiring and ensure a more efficient and respectful process for candidates in the future. This experience was entirely unacceptable.
- What motivates you to want to work for Lowestein Sandler?
PC/AV Technician
Had a phone screen then 3 in person interviews meeting different people on the team. Got a PDF of benefits before the interview, which was cool. The recruiting manager was really nice and made the hiring process feel more relaxed. It was a conversational interview about my past jobs and some usual HR questions like what my boss would say about me and my strengths. Then I met the IT manager. They were also super chill, very conversational, asked about my past work and explained how AV/IT operations work at Lowenstein. It felt like they just wanted to check if I was normal, didn't BS my resume, and would fit the culture. Got an email the next day to set up a second interview with the IT director and some IT/AV team members. They asked about my past experience and some client-facing questions to see how I handle pressure, plus more HR questions. A week later, I got contacted again to schedule a 3rd in-person interview with the CIO. The CIO was also really cool; the company culture is super consistent. I got asked really specific technical questions about my past experiences, the gear I prefer, how I handle troubleshooting, company culture, and future career paths. Overall, I always knew where I stood in the process. Communication was clear and fast, and the people were upfront with me.
- Can you describe a stressful situation you've encountered and how you managed it?
- How would your previous supervisor describe you?
- What are your key strengths?
Business Development Manager
The interview process was pretty simple. My first interview was in person with HR and the practice group administrator. The second interview was also in person and had five individual attorney interviews. The first round had more typical questions like "Which three words would you use to describe yourself?". The attorney interviews asked hypotheticals and wanted me to apply my past professional experiences to BD issues at Lowenstein. Beyond those questions, they seemed really interested in who I was as a person, not just my professional skills. They also did a background check.
- How do you encourage attorneys to dedicate time to business development activities and projects?
Business Development Coordinator
The interview process was well structured and thorough, but also very down to earth. It started with an initial email asking about past employment, followed by a phone interview and 3 in-person interviews. They were very professional and helpful throughout, even making sure you would be able to get to their location comfortably! Every step was well coordinated, and every interviewer well informed. By the end, everyone will get a clear sense of things. All in all, the perfect blend of organized and human, something the firm is well known for.
- Can you tell me about your top skill and how you utilize it?
