& Process

I applied online with my cv. The day after, the regional manager called me to let me know I was moving on to the group interview. The group interview was really early, and the manager was about 30 minutes late. We all stood in a circle with about 20 people and took turns saying our name and an interesting fact about ourselves. Then, the manager asked a lot of basic interview questions, and we all answered them going around the circle. Next, we were split into groups, and each group was assigned a specific style. We had a few minutes to walk around the store and pick items we thought matched the style. Then, we each took turns explaining our choices. During the interview, I became good friends with another candidate. The manager asked us if we knew each other beforehand, and we said no. She seemed impressed by how friendly and approachable we were. A week later, my friend and I got a call from the manager saying we got the job. I'd read their whole website before the interview and even remembered some parts word-for-word. The manager was really impressed by this. I also noticed I was speaking louder and clearer than the others.

I submitted my resume online and got an email inviting me to a group interview in the city. We were told to dress in a way that reflects the Lovisa brand, so I checked out their stores to see their style, which is business casual with pops of color. There were about 10 of us girls and 4 interviewers. They started by having us introduce ourselves to the group. Then, we filled out forms about our availability, holiday plans, and preferred store locations. After that, we were paired up, chatted for 5 minutes, and then had to pitch the other person and explain why they'd be a good fit for the job. We also discussed fashion, jewelry, and who we follow on Instagram. For the last part, we were put into groups of three and had 10 minutes to create an accessories collection using only newspaper, without any tape or other materials. We also had to come up with a name, celebrity wearers, and a theme. My group made a braided headband, bracelets, a ring, and a necklace with a cross, naming it Daisy Chain, inspired by Isabel Lucas, Vanessa Hudgens, and Coachella. They asked us more questions about it, but I'm not sure we did what they expected because the lead interviewer looked unhappy the whole time.

I applied online and did a video application, then the next day I was asked to come in for a group interview the following Thursday at their store. I arrived early with some other candidates, we were let in and told to browse the store as we'd have an interactive activity later. Once everyone arrived, we sat down, introduced ourselves, and went around the circle sharing what being a stylist means to us. After that, we were split into small groups and had to act as a customer and stylist, picking items for a specific event like the races and presenting our choices to the group within 10 minutes. We finished by writing down our availability and then left. The whole thing took about half an hour. They mentioned we'd hear back within 2 days and would hire at least one, possibly two of us. I haven't heard back yet but would take the job if offered.
