Recruiter kept me engaged and was transparent about next steps. I appreciated the depth of culture I was able to see before deciding to join this brand.

I met with the store manager and a district manager. The whole thing took at least 20 minutes. They talked about the company and asked me about my past work experience and availability. They also asked some typical interview questions. At the end, the store manager told me I got the job.

I had two calls in total. The first was a screener call, and the second was a standard interview. Some red flags popped up during the process. On the screener, I didn't get much chance to ask my own questions because the recruiter spent a lot of time talking about how much they like Lovesac, leaving hardly any time for anything else. It felt like a hard sell about the culture, but I was still interested in the role. They then mentioned that the role had been posted months before they were ready to hire anyone because they wanted to 'see what was out there.' Posting a job months before you're ready to hire without saying when they intend to hire seems disingenuous and cruel, since most people applying for jobs need them, not just for fun. After the initial screener call, I had a call with the hiring manager, which seemed to go well. However, after not hearing back, I followed up asking for an update and was told I'd get one that week. The week went by and still no update. I had to follow up 3 times total before I got an update, which came as a voicemail asking me to call them back. When I called, they said they went with someone else who had more experience. A simple email a few days after the second interview saying they're moving forward with someone else with more experience would have been more efficient and timely. The whole process from when I applied to when an interview was scheduled took 3 months.
