First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lovelace Health System.
Credentialing Specialist
The whole thing took about two weeks. I first got a call from the recruiter, who then set me up with the hiring manager. A virtual interview was scheduled after the recruiter reached out. They mentioned that future interviews will be in person since they are trying to get more people back in the office.
- Can you introduce yourself and share an instance where you dealt with a challenging colleague?
- Tell me about a situation where you had to work with a difficult coworker.
Registered Nurse
I talked to a recruiter from Lovelace who was really nice and seemed to want what was best for me based on my skills. Then, they arranged an interview with the unit manager. When I got there, the manager was on time and we reviewed my resume. They asked me some basic questions and, understanding that I'm a new nurse, they explained some of the expectations and the typical daily routine on the unit I applied for.
- Are you interested in working with a specific patient population in your nursing career?
Medical Assistant
After sending in my application, they emailed me to set up a 30-minute phone call where we talked about my experience, skills, and the job details. Then, I got invited for a second interview with a Nursing manager, an RN, and an MA. During this interview, I had to answer questions about past on-the-job situations and what I could bring to the role. They also let me ask any questions I had. I heard back about the job the next week.
- Can you describe a difficult situation you encountered and how you resolved it?
Marketing
A great interview is super important for both the person applying and the team interviewing. It's where the candidate shows what they can do and where the hiring team checks if they fit the job and the company vibe. Getting ready is key. Candidates should look up the company, know its values, and understand the job description. Think about your past jobs and how they match what they're looking for. Practicing common questions makes you more confident and helps you talk clearly. When you're in the interview, connecting with the interviewer is a big deal. A friendly hello, looking them in the eye, and good body language make things more relaxed. Candidates should answer questions straight to the point but give enough info to show they're qualified. Using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) is good for behavioral questions. Interviewers should also make the candidate feel welcome so they can do their best. Asking open-ended questions gets people talking and shows you more about their personality, how they solve problems, and how they think. Paying attention and responding shows the candidate you care about their answers. A good interview experience leaves everyone feeling good, win or lose. For candidates, it’s a chance to get feedback and learn about the company. For interviewers, it helps them find the right person for their team, maybe leading to a good long-term relationship. In the end, a good interview is about matching what the candidate wants with what the company needs, setting up success for everyone.
- Can you explain your motivation for applying to this specific company and pursuing a career in this industry?
