This was a one on one interview that took place at a local hotel as part of a job fair. I talked with a regional manager from the company's local region. The interview was conversational and mostly about my resume and past work experience. We talked a bit about pay and benefits, especially the bonus system. They asked if I was open to relocating and if I would need to travel for the job. No surveys or tests were part of it, and the whole thing lasted about thirty minutes.

I applied online and the District Manager arranged an interview for me, which was 1.5 hours away. The DM was friendly and the interview seemed to be going well, but then he revealed that the GM position had already been filled the previous night. He then offered me a marketing role with a $10k pay cut until a GM opening became available. When I inquired about a potential timeline for a GM position, he couldn't provide an estimate but confirmed there wasn't one currently open. I declined the offer and thanked him for his time. I would have preferred a phone call before I traveled such a distance.
