Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Louis Vuitton.
Project Assistant
After I applied, HR reached out to schedule a first interview. After that, they got in touch again to set up a second round, which included two interviews with the department head. Both interviewers were direct, asking typical questions to gauge my fit. At the end of the second round, they said they'd let me know in a week or two since they were interviewing five other candidates. Then... nothing. Over three weeks passed, and just a week before the start date, I got a generic rejection email saying they'd chosen others. For a company that values people, I got NO FEEDBACK and no personal email after preparing for three interviews, just a system response. LVMH, don't create false expectations about contacting candidates and then ghost them with a generic system reply. Humanize your candidates and DO BETTER!!
- Can you describe a project from your portfolio?
Project Manager
First, there was a phone call with a one-on-one interview. Then, a second interview with the manager and HR, involving situational questions. You'll be asked about your background, past experiences with skills, motivations for the job, and your strengths, weaknesses, and career goals.
- Tell me about a difficult situation you've faced.
Project Manager
I applied via the LVMH website, but what made the difference was that a former student from my school, whom I had contacted, also sent my CV to HR. The first HR interview was standard; the important thing is to know yourself well and answer questions sincerely. I appreciated that my interviewer took the time to give me advice and immediate feedback. I didn't feel like she was trying to trap me. Less than a week later, I was contacted by email by the operational manager. The interview was more focused on my technical skills. The HR person called me a few days later to let me know I wasn't selected. It's a shame the feedback was focused only on one negative point, leaving me with a bad impression. If I had gone further in the process, I would have possibly had to work on a case study and have a third interview. The two interviews were long (1.5 hours each). I had visited the brand's store and website to prepare, but it didn't help me at all in the interview.
- What's the distinction between a good project manager and an excellent one?
- How do you persuade stakeholders to prioritize your projects?
- Can you share an instance of a project you managed that didn't go as planned?
