The interview was at the Department of Children and Family Services Headquarters in Koreatown. I had my interview on a Saturday, which I thought was a bit unusual. The interview process itself was pretty straightforward. It focused on scenario-based questions about physical abuse and neglect, including substance abuse.

The interview felt very conversational! I was interviewed 5 years ago by 2 panelists and both were very kind and professional. Brush up on some child welfare laws before the interview!

Their hiring process involved an initial interview with two people, after which I was placed on a list. I was contacted about a year later, which surprised me since I was in Group 2. During the interview, I wasn't fully informed about the job's requirements, specifically the expectation of working emergency shifts that could extend past 9:00 pm, or the on-call duty required once a month after a six-month probation period. Post-hiring, HR paperwork takes about three months to process. The process also includes a physical exam at Great Samaritan Hospital, where a doctor reviews a pre-filled form and asks questions.
