First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lord & Taylor.
Sales Associate
Got the interview through a referral. It was pretty chill and easygoing, they said my resume and background were a good match. Talked straight with the department manager. It took a decent amount of time.
- Can you tell me about your background and experience?
- What kind of experience do you have?
- Is your experience a good fit for this role?
Talent Acquisition Specialist
I had 2 rounds of interviews. First was a phone interview with the hiring manager, which was mainly an introduction to the role. Then, I had an on-site interview where I met with the hiring manager and some other team members.
- What's your favorite part about recruiting?
Fulfillment Support Associate
I applied online for the Fulfillment Support Associate position through a job board, submitting my resume. A few days later, I received a phone call inviting me to an interview at their store in Huntington, NY. The interviewer was incredibly rude, discourteous, and unprofessional, making the experience feel more like an interrogation and frequently interrupting me. My voluntary work seemed unimportant to the interviewer, who only focused on my paid employment history. They questioned why I was looking for a job since I was currently unemployed and self-sufficient. At that point, I decided to end the interview and leave. It made me realize I'd be better off not working there given their treatment of potential employees.

Asset Protection Manager
Got a call on my cell to be at the store at 3PM Thursday, and go to the top floor via elevator. When I got off the elevator no one was around... I had yo wander around offices until I found someone... I found the Store Manager and Assistant. The interview was relaxed and very personal... not formal at all, which I like.
- What makes you want this particular job?
