Restaurant Manager
HR set up a Skype interview which I felt didn't go great. The next day, the Director of Operations called to set up an interview for the following week. I really enjoyed interviewing with him; he was very open and friendly, making me feel comfortable. By the end, I felt like we really connected, almost like friends. He indicated he wanted to move forward. The day after that, HR sent over a background check and application form. It usually takes 3-5 business days, but mine took 4. I got the offer, did a drug test, and I'm starting in 2 weeks. I'm really excited to start; talking to both HR and the Director of Operations made me want to work there.
- Are you able to relocate?
- Can you describe an instance where you successfully resolved a negative guest experience, leading to their desire to return?
Restaurant Manager
I had a phone interview with the Talent Acquisition Manager first. Then I was set up with an interview with the Director of Operations for the Area. I met him the next day, he was a really nice guy. In the end he said he had more "qualified" candidates he had interviewed and tried to pawn an hourly position on me. I have 20 years in the business and have worked in multi million dollar companies for a long time. I got an email 5 days later saying they weren't offering me the position. I guess they would rather take a "qualified" person than someone with experience.
- Why are you interested in LongHorn Steakhouse?
Manager
It was a 3-step job interview process: first one was over the phone, the second one over Skype, and the final one was a face-to-face meeting with a regional director of operations. Overall, it was a good experience. Tip: it helps if you find out/read more info about the company (like its history, how many restaurants they own etc.).
- Are you applying to other jobs?
