Learning And Development Specialist
I was emailed by someone to schedule a phone screen with the HR recruiter. The recruiter was late for the call, which lasted 11 minutes. Then, I had a one-on-one with the hiring manager, which went really well and lasted 45 minutes. At the end, I was told there would be a group interview. After waiting 4 days without hearing back, I emailed the recruiter, who then set up the group interview. The group interview also went really well, and I was told they wanted to move quickly. I waited three days and heard nothing, so I emailed the recruiter again with no response. After another three days, she said she'd check with the hiring manager and get back to me that afternoon. Two days later, I emailed again. Then I was informed they decided to hire internally. It's frustrating to go through three interviews only to hire internally, especially when I knew there were two open positions. The recruiter was unreliable, and I'm not impressed with the experience.
- Are you okay with working more than 9 months annually?
Technical Writer
I was asked to book an interview via email after they reached out on Linkedin and email. When the scheduled time arrived, there was no call and no response to my email. I rescheduled, and again, no call! I wasted 3-4 hours preparing and adjusting my schedule, and received no apology or explanation. They need to improve their HR processes. Their average salary is below the tech industry standard. Juniors might consider it but be aware of HR issues. Mid to senior folks should look elsewhere for better pay and to avoid wasting time.
- They requested an interview but never called, so no interview or questions were asked, wasting my time.
Associate Product Manager
The interview process started with an initial phone screen, and then a second phone interview was set up during that first call. Following that, I had a second phone interview with the Director, and after that, an in-person interview was arranged. I had to drive 1.5 hours each way from Toronto to Cambridge for this in-person interview. It involved meeting with two company executives, and also someone else who joined via Skype from Dallas. Unfortunately, one of the interviewers didn't arrive until the last 10 minutes of our hour-long meeting, so the other executive just read questions from a Word document until he got there. At some point, the person on the Skype call from Dallas disconnected and wasn't on the call anymore. After the interviews, I followed up with both executives to thank them for their time, but I never heard back from them or anyone else at the company.
- Can you describe what you anticipate the daily responsibilities of an Associate Product Manager to entail?
- Given your background and education in Product Management, how would you describe your grasp of the role and its associated concepts, such as the software development lifecycle, scrum, and agile principles, even without prior direct experience as a Product Manager?
Sales Development Representative
First, you gotta do this online test that checks your personality and how you do with pattern recognition. After that, there's a phone interview. Then, you'll have a Skype chat with the boss. Finally, you'll come in for an in-person interview where they'll ask you situational questions. The hardest part to get through is definitely that first personality and pattern recognition test. They have target scores for different departments like sales, marketing, and customer success. If your scores suggest you'd be better suited for customer success but you applied for sales, they won't tell you and will just say you're not a fit.
- Can you describe a time when you persuaded someone to change their perspective during a sales call?
