Front of House
So I didn't really have an interview, they just wanted me to do a trial shift first to see if I was even gonna be considered. Then after that shift, they told me I probably wasn't gonna get the job, but they wanted me to come back for another trial shift on Saturday.
- Would you be able to memorize the whole menu for the next time?
Server Bartender
Got a face-to-face interview and then shortly after, got a call and started training. Training had three shifts: two shadowing and one as lead. During the lead shift, I had to give an elevator pitch and discuss steak temperatures.
- In your opinion, what constitutes good service?
Host
The process was fast, they said I would get called for orientation but never did and I'm still waiting. I'm looking at other job options now. I wish they were true to their word. I haven't heard back in over a week. I called and they said they are working on plans.
- Tell me about yourself.
- What is your availability?
Server
I saw a "now hiring" sign and went in to grab an application. After I filled it out, the host took it to the manager and told me to come back the next Thursday between 2 and 4. When I returned, the manager conducted a brief interview asking things like why I wanted the job, my availability, and how my friends would describe me. They mentioned I'd need a food handler's permit and alcohol card (or get them soon), followed by a 5-day training period, after which I'd be hired if I followed instructions.
- What makes you want to be a server here?
- What are your friends like when they describe you?
