Applied online and heard back from the hiring manager, who was the Director of the department, about two days later. The interview felt okay, but I got the sense she was easily annoyed or dismissive if my answers weren't exactly what she wanted to hear. After the interview, I never heard anything back. I only found out I didn't get the job when I got an automated email over a month later. I know this is common for big companies, but I really expected some kind of personal follow-up or communication after the interview. That kind of thing would have really shown they live up to the mission and values of the university they strongly identify with.

I sent in my application online and heard back about 2 days later that my stuff got passed to the hiring manager. They had me come in for a clerical test that covered MS Excel, Word, typing, and proofreading. Like 3 weeks after that, they called me to come in for an interview. It was with 3 people: the two heads of the department I'd be reporting to, and someone from HR. The interview itself was about 45 minutes, and the last 8-10 minutes was me asking them questions. After they told me I got the job verbally, the pre-employment stuff took another 3 weeks. That involved doing online paperwork for HR, a background check (criminal history, past jobs, and education), a physical exam (which included a TB test and drug screening), and then one last meeting with HR to talk about benefits and get my badge.

I had a short, 15-minute chat with the nurse managers, it went pretty fast and was pretty chill. They asked some basic clinical questions, nothing too hard, mainly checking my basic knowledge and how I think. They also wanted to hear about my past jobs and clinical work, especially stuff about taking care of patients, working with others, or dealing with tough spots. It seemed like they really wanted to get to know me and see if I'd be a good fit for the unit and the team.

It was a 3 part interview. I spoke with the Nurse Manager, a Staff RN, and the Nursing Director. They were all from the floor/dept I applied for and were interviewing for the position. It was about 2 hours long. They were very welcoming and friendly. Most questions focused on situational factors to understand my personality and work ethic. I was offered the position the same day without much negotiation because it was a new grad RN position.
