I heard back from the coordinator about a week after I applied. The first interview was a phone call with someone who works remotely and it went really well. Then I had an in-person interview and met with three different groups of people, which I mostly enjoyed. After that, I had to do a practice booking where I talked to one of their employees like they were a customer and I was the agent. This was tricky because I had no idea what they were looking for or how to use their systems, even pretending. It also seemed like they wanted to see my personality, so I guess using casual words like 'y'all' might have been better? I was very professional and that didn't seem to work out!

Behavioral

I was excited to apply and interview at Lola due to recent news about their new CEO and changes. However, my experience was disappointing. I got a quick response after applying and had a 30-minute call scheduled for later that week. I was only given the first name of the interviewer, who I later found out was a VP. The interviewer called about 10 minutes late, and the call lasted only about 10-12 minutes. It felt like they were just reviewing my application and resume while talking to me. They asked a few questions about my qualifications and why I was interested in Lola, but the rest of the time was spent discussing my current compensation. After going in circles on that topic, they ended the call, citing other meetings. I didn't get to learn much about the company or the role, which was unfortunate. It's a red flag if their priority is cost-cutting on employee pay instead of product passion and hiring genuinely interested people. Also, please be respectful of others' time.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied online and had to fill out a long application. Then there was a phone interview that lasted an hour with two people. Following that, I had a three-hour interview with five different people. The final interview was conducted 'on chat' where I had to pretend to help a customer. This part was tough because I wasn't given any prep on how to 'service' their customers or any formal guidelines. It was a strange and unprofessional way to do a chat interview, especially since there was no reservation system available, just a blind Google Chat.

Behavioral Technical Coding System Design Presentation

The interview process kicked off with a mutual get-to-know chat with the VPE about my background. That was followed by a similar chat with an engineer. Then, I was invited for a 3-hour onsite where I met folks from different teams and went through a code design interview and a personality interview. They let me know a few days later that they couldn't move forward with an offer, but they were really pleasant during the entire process.
