Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LogRhythm.
Sales Engineer
The interview process was long and thorough due to the pandemic. LogRhythm made it clear from the start they were seeking an exceptional candidate ready to contribute immediately. I participated in seven interview rounds, meeting with the hiring manager, sales engineers, VP of Engineering, sales representatives, and recruiters. A background check and employment verification were also part of the process. Despite its length, I found the interview experience very enjoyable because the team members were consistently friendly and enthusiastic.
- Can you describe a challenging sales opportunity that ultimately failed?
- What would you identify as your greatest strength and your most significant weakness?
- How would you advise a customer looking to protect their SQL server?
Sales Engineer
I had four phone interviews and a Skype call before coming onsite for an in-person interview. The travel arrangements were a bit of a mess; car rental wouldn't let me have the car since I wasn't a current employee, so I had to sort out my own transportation. When I got there, the people scheduled to meet me were out, and I ended up waiting 45 minutes for a new team to be put together. I then sat through four technical interviews, and each one started with, 'Why are you here? I didn't think we were filling any positions.' They said I'd get an update immediately, either that night or the next day. I ended up waiting until 5:30 PM for the last interview, which made me miss my car return and almost my flight. The whole thing felt rushed, and I felt like I was an inconvenience. After the VP told me four times I'd hear back immediately, I got no response via email or phone despite trying to follow up. Then I had to chase them for reimbursement for the car charges. Nothing happened for four weeks, so I just absorbed the cost. I'm still getting reminders about the toll charges from that trip.
- Can you execute basic regex commands?
- What's the SQL command to drop tables?
- Could you explain why you're interviewing with us?
Sales Engineer
A recruiter from LogRhythm reached out on LinkedIn. Initially, she considered me for a different position but then realized I'd be a better fit for a Sales Engineering role. Following that conversation, I met with the hiring manager, then three colleagues. After that, I presented a demo to the hiring manager and had lunch with someone at the hiring manager's level. A test was administered subsequently, and then I received the offer. The whole process was really smooth and everyone was super responsive and professional. I got offers from other places too but chose LogRhythm because of the people, how well the company is doing, and the overall vibe.
