Marketing
I got a message on LinkedIn from a recruiter about a job at Logic20/20. Then I had a phone call with the recruiter the next day. After that, she set up in-person interviews with two people: my direct manager and someone from another department who talked about the company and its culture. Then I talked to the recruiter again and had a final interview with an executive. The whole thing took about 2-2.5 weeks from start to finish, and it was pretty smooth. The recruiter called me before and after each interview and was super nice. She helped me get ready, figure out salary, and discuss benefits.
- Could you share what aspects you liked and disliked most about your past role?
- Can you tell me about a marketing project you're particularly proud of from your previous experience?
- What marketing project from your past work are you most proud of?
Business Analyst
I was first contacted by a recruiter, and after a quick phone interview, they said they wanted to bring me in for some in-person interviews. I went to the office and found out I would be interviewed by two different senior consultants. The first one was pretty tough and asked a lot of challenging questions about my critical thinking. The second one was more relaxed and focused on how I interact at work and what I think makes a good work environment. After that, I chatted briefly with the head of the business practice, and that was the end of my interviews.
- Are you a leader, and does that mean you struggle with following directions?
- What's your greatest weakness?
- What type of work environment do you find most suitable?
Manager
First, I met with the recruiter at a coffee shop. They had a great personality, were really friendly, and told me about the company. They followed up afterwards to keep me interested. It took about two weeks to set up the actual interview. When I got to the office, the first person I met, who was a Manager, asked some really good questions about technical project management. The next person I interviewed with, a Senior Manager, didn't really ask anything. I thought they should have been assessing cultural fit, but it was pretty superficial. I left feeling really unhappy and not impressed at all. Then, I had to wait over a month for any follow-up, which seemed like a bad sign since good companies usually get back to you within a week.
- Can you tell me about a methodology not on your resume?
Consultant
A recruiter from the company reached out to me on LinkedIn to see if I was interested. I then scheduled an initial phone screening with their recruiting associate. After that, they set up a two-part Zoom interview that was 90 minutes long. It wasn't clear which team or function I would be working in. The recruiting associate said they'd let me know about the next steps. I reached out about a week later for an update but didn't hear back. I waited another week and tried again for an update, but they never responded.
- Can you tell me why you're seeking a new opportunity?
- How would your project management skills apply to a consulting role?
- Are you prepared to meet the various and evolving demands of consulting work?
