It happened years ago. I got feedback that they would schedule a technical interview. I didn't get a response, so I followed up, and they scheduled it. The interviewer for the technical interview showed up more than 10 minutes late and didn't follow through with anything. In the end, they saw I answered the question and asked me about the IDE I used.

The process was very humanized and felt personal, not like talking to robots. It was remote (via Google Meet) and had these steps: 1 - Initial chat with the Tech Recruiter to introduce myself, talk about my experiences, and learn more about the company. 2 - Coding interview with a whiteboard. I got a problem to solve and had to write the code in a shared link during the call. Important to know about algorithm complexity and testing for this. 3 - Background interview: a technical chat, no challenge to complete, mainly discussing and detailing my main contributions and experiences to see if they align with what they're looking for. 4 - Slotting, where a committee reviews all profiles. Candidates are anonymized, and they only look at the interviewers' notes. 5 - Interview with the CTO to discuss the role's challenges, future vision, and clarify any doubts we both might have about our experiences. 6 - Final feedback.

Behavioral Technical Coding

I applied through LinkedIn. The first stage was a 1-hour chat with the TA, who was very polite, friendly, and made me feel very comfortable. They talked about the company, benefits, and the opportunity. They asked about me, my career, and my opinion on diversity (this is an important point for them, being able to work with and respect diverse people). At the end, they gave me space to ask questions. Then there was a 1-hour chat with a technical person to talk about my background, which was also very relaxed. They asked about the technologies I know, languages, databases, tools, frameworks, agile process, Git, and Jira. At the end, they gave me space to ask questions. The last stage was a practical technical test, with another very friendly person. They want to know how you'll solve the problem, regardless of the language, but I suggest studying well because you'll need to code live, and the platform isn't an IDE, so there's no autocomplete. I got totally lost and struggled a lot. Negative feedback came via email, very respectfully explaining where I didn't do well and what I can study to improve. I thought it was great.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Calculate the distance between a shipping center and a package's destination, given the package ID, destination coordinates, and the shipping center's location.
  • Given a package with an identifier (id), destination (x,y) and a shipping center (A) with identifier by location, i.e. (id, (x,y)). Write an algorithm that checks the distance between the distribution center and the package destination.
