First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Loeb.nyc.
New Venture Intern
It was a two-round process. The first round was super casual and conversational, and the second focused more on my skills and what I'm interested in. No case studies or coding problems. The team was really good about answering questions and setting up coffee chats.
- Can you pitch a startup idea and explain your reasoning behind it?
Associate
The interview process was quite straightforward, consisting of 4 rounds, all focused on behavioral questions. Communication from the interviewer was slow and inconsistent. Be prepared with standard behavioral questions and have your references ready.
- Which companies in your portfolio do you admire the most?
Intern
The interview process started with an HR call that was purely behavioral. The first round involved a spark hire assessment with unlimited attempts. The second round was a Zoom interview with HR. Following these initial stages, there are further rounds with the company to determine placement either with their portfolio companies or with Loeb itself. The application requires you to indicate interest in specific portfolio companies, so research on those beforehand is recommended.
- What makes you interested in Venture Capital?
- Why are you interested in Loeb?
- Can you describe your experience with teamwork?
Engagement Manager
The interview process was pretty standard. They wanted to understand the skills I had for the role, specifically if I could do certain things in Microsoft Excel. They also wanted to get a sense of my personal values and what I'm like as an employee. Essentially, they were trying to see who I am as a person and gauge my enthusiasm for potentially joining their team.
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next five years?
