So I went through five rounds total. First up was a video call with HR, mostly about work sponsorship and location stuff. Then I had another chat with HR and my current manager, which was more relaxed. We covered basics like 'Tell me about yourself,' my past automation experience, the tech I've used, and details about the job like working hours. After that, I had a technical interview with the VP, which was pretty tough. He dug into SQL, REST APIs, and message queues, checking not just my knowledge but how well I could explain things. There was also a data structures question in that round. About a week later, I talked to the project manager and scrum master – a chill conversation, no technical stuff. The last one was with a senior team member who was really sharp technically. We talked about tools like Postman, messaging, and logging. Right after that, HR let me know I got the job.

I went through a bunch of interviews and then a skills assessment, and then a final interview with the VP. After all that, I never heard back from them. I tried following up with emails, but they never responded. It's frustrating because I've heard similar stories, and it makes me wonder if someone on their team is marking applicants' emails as spam so they can't get in touch. It seems like there might be some internal issue where people are flagging emails to get referral bonuses. Regardless, ghosting someone after they've invested so much time is a big red flag, and it's not a place I'd want to work. Their technology isn't that great either, so with all the overexpansion, I'm not sure they'll survive unless they get acquired.

So, the first thing was a phone call with the recruiter, which got delayed by 5 minutes but was otherwise okay. Then they set me up with the hiring manager, but that got pushed back last minute too. I waited around 10 minutes for him to show up, and then I had to tell the recruiter. The recruiter said he'd sort it out, but then I didn't hear from him until the next week. The hiring manager never showed up, and I never got an explanation. They asked me to reschedule for the next week and didn't even apologize. I told them I wasn't interested anymore because they clearly don't value people's time.
