Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Loblaw Companies.
Product Manager
The interview process was pretty simple and ran smoothly. Started with an online application, then got a call to set up an in-person interview. The manager was really nice and easy to talk to during the interview, which made things feel relaxed. They mainly asked me questions about how I'd handle different work situations.
- Can you tell me about a time you collaborated with a team to reach an objective?
- What actions would you take if you saw a colleague not adhering to company policies?
- What are your motivations for seeking employment at Loblaws?
Product Manager Intern
They asked a few technical questions, then some general behavioral ones. There was a lot of focus on situational questions, and they also asked behavioral stuff to check my thinking. They also wanted to see some analytical experience.
- Could you introduce yourself?
Assistant Product Manager
There was a phone interview, which was very informal. They mainly wanted to chat about my experiences, why I was interested in working for Loblaw, and to ensure my salary expectations were in line with the role. Following that, I had two in-person interviews with a total of three different team leads. These interactions were all pleasant and relaxed. However, one of the interviews was quite structured, with the interviewer reading questions from a page and noting down my answers. The other was unstructured, more like a general conversation. It's difficult to predict what to expect, as it likely depends on the team lead's experience and how many interviews they've conducted before.
- Can you describe how you handle managing multiple priorities?
- How do you approach dealing with conflict in a professional setting?
- Which Loblaw product is your favorite?
