Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Loblaw Companies.
Financial Analyst
So the interview process was pretty standard. I talked with around 4-5 managers. They asked me about why I wanted to apply and about my background. Then we went into some situation-based questions. Overall, it was a good experience.
- Tell me about a situation and what you would do.
- How would you handle this situation?
Financial Analyst
It was a phone call and I was asked standard questions matching the job description. They just wanted to make sure I had the necessary skills and experience. It was a phone screen, and they said they'd call me back once the hiring manager reviewed my resume. I asked about deadlines, and they mentioned they don't have specific dates and will keep processing applications until they find the right candidate. After that, they didn't update me on their decision.
- Can you discuss your areas for professional development?
Financial Analyst
I applied online and had a phone interview with a recruiter. They asked me to go over my resume and some behavioral questions. After that, I got an email about an in-person interview with the financial manager. The atmosphere was good and the manager was easy to talk to. The interview was about 30 minutes.
- Can you share an instance where you employed your judgment to resolve a work-related problem impacting you or your team?
- What's your proficiency with Excel?
- What motivates your interest in Loblaw?
