First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LLR Partners.
Analyst
For my first interview, which was a phone screen, the interviewer asked me to introduce myself and then spent the entire 40 minutes asking me questions about my sophomore summer internship and LLR. He kept wanting more details about the company I worked for. It's a PE firm focused in Africa, so for example he asked me what my favorite country in Africa is to focus on, and which industry, and which company in the industry, etc etc and kept disagreeing with what I said. It was very hostile and rude, which was a shame because I was looking forward to getting to know him but instead he just grilled me.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What information do you have about LLR?
- What makes you prefer LLR compared to other firms?
Summer Analyst
The process was fairly quick, with two initial rounds leading to an in-person superday. The team seemed keen on getting to know you, and the whole thing felt more personal than at other places. It was mostly behavioral questions with a few light PE/IB technicals.
- Tell me about a situation where you brought a new idea or innovation to a process.
Analyst
Had a behavioral interview first on Zoom, then a technical one also on Zoom. Got invited to a superday after that which had a case study and 3 behavioral interviews with different people at the firm. The behavioral and technical parts were pretty standard.
- Tell me about yourself
- Why are you interested in LLR?
- Why are you interested in Private Equity?
