First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lloyds Banking Group.
Technology Graduate Scheme
So first I had to do like 2 rounds of online assessments, one was like a video recording thing, and the other one had some basic coding questions. After that, they invited me to do an online assessment day, which was all done remotely. There were a bunch of exercises on that day, like some group exercises, then individual interviews, and a technical interview, but no coding was involved in that one.
- Regarding the career progression routes (slow, medium, fast), which option do you favor and explain your reasoning?
Graduate Student
it was a pretty long haul, took around 6 months from when I applied to when I got the final answer. there were 3 main parts to it: first, an initial assessment, then some job insight tests, and finally, a full-day assessment centre where there were about 15 other people there with me.
- Could you explain your interest in Lloyds?
- What specifically can you tell us about the scheme you applied for?
Graduate Trainee
I had a long interview day, from 9 am to 3.30 pm, which felt boring and unnecessary. It started with introductions. Then, we had a group discussion where 2-3 people debated the best solution and justified their choices. After that, I faced individual questions involving three different scenarios where I had to provide solutions. The day concluded with a one-on-one interview focused on competence-based questions. The interviewers were unfriendly and rude, one rolled their eyes, and the other started eating while I was speaking, which made me feel my preparation was a waste of time.
- Can you tell me why you chose Lloyds?
- What makes you the right candidate?
- How have you pushed yourself outside of your comfort zone?
