Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LiveRamp.
Data Science Intern
There were supposed to be two rounds, a 1-hour coding round and a 45-minute technical round. The coding round was LeetCode style. The interviewer was late for the coding round, and after it finished, the second round didn't happen, which was weird.
- Could you find the range of numbers where all digits are identical?
Data Scientist
The engineer and hiring manager I talked to were nice and did a quick but thorough interview. However, the communication from them was the worst I've experienced. I emailed questions before and after, but got no response. They didn't even tell me my decision after rejecting me. If you interview with the hiring manager, letting the candidate know should be the absolute minimum. Not a great salary, and they won't get good people by treating candidates like this when the job market improves. The interview stages were: 1. Zoom call. 2. Coding/problem-solving in a notebook with an engineer. 3. Data Science fundamentals/background with the hiring manager.
- Can you share your background?
- How would you describe your coding ability?
- What do you know about the fundamentals of Data Science?
Data Scientist
The first step was to describe a project I did previously. Then, there was a TECH phone interview. The interviewer seemed not listening to me and did not care about the answers or the project I described as requested. It was obvious even at the beginning of the interview. What's worse, the person who interviewed me changed the scheduled interview time twice with the same reason 'He is not feeling well'. One was changed at the last minute before the interview, the other one was changed on the same day as the interview scheduled. I am not sure if LiveRamp is really trying to hire someone.
- Can you describe a project you have worked on previously?
