Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Live Nation Entertainment.
Accountant
Usually, you'll go through about 2 to 3 interview rounds. Sometimes, they might ask you some technical questions related to your resume depending on the specific job. You could also be presented with a made-up situation and asked to explain how you'd approach it. There might also be some team interaction to see how you'd fit in.
- What makes you the most suitable candidate for this position?
Staff Accountant
It was a 3-interview process. The first was with the recruiter, the second with a senior accountant, and the third with the CFO. I only made it to two of the interviews. The first one was pretty easy, and the second one was more focused on my practical skills and what I know how to do. I felt like it went well, but they did mention that the position has been open for a few months and they haven't hired anyone yet.
- Have you had prior experience working remotely?
Accounting Manager
I had a 30-min phone screen with the recruiter first, followed by a 1-hour Zoom interview with the hiring manager. The Zoom interview involved typical behavioral and accounting questions. However, there was a disconnect between the recruiter and hiring manager. The recruiter had discussed an accounting manager role with me, but the hiring manager seemed to think they were hiring a senior accountant. Because the job description, duties, and pay were different for these two roles, it was confusing. After the hiring manager mentioned they were actually looking for a more junior position, I never heard back from them or the recruiter, not even an apology for the mix-up and my wasted time.
- What makes you want to join Live Nation?
- Can you explain how to account for cash received upfront for a 6-month contract where the performance obligations are recognized evenly over the period?
