Software Engineer
I sent in my resume, and then heard back about 2 months later. The recruiter started off by telling me about how the company was a mess because they had bought a lot of other companies, but they thought it was getting better. He said I would be a really good fit and that he wouldn't tell me this stuff if I wasn't. This part took about 10 minutes and he didn't ask me anything, except at the very end when he asked if I had any questions. He set up a second interview for the next week, but then he had to reschedule it last minute. We finally talked again, and he said he would set up a meeting with the team lead. He told me to text him back the next week, which I did. The following week he texted me, "Make sure to ping me again next week", so I did. I texted and emailed him every few days for 2 weeks (I kept it friendly, like "Hey Recruiter! Just wanted to check in on my application and see if we could set up that second interview") before I figured out I was being ghosted.
- Do you have any questions for me?
Software Engineer
The interview process had two technical rounds and one HR round. The first round was pretty easy and asked basic JavaScript questions, frontend fundamentals, and a short coding task. The second round was a mix of technical and management questions, checking my technical skills and how I'd handle team dynamics.
- Could you write a program that shows how to make API calls and then displays the results in a table?
VP, Customer Success
Applied online and tried to follow up with the hiring manager via email but no response. Emailed the CPO, who responded and CCed the recruiter. The recruiter contacted me about a week later, not referencing my initial outreach. We had a good conversation and I was told they needed to hire someone urgently. However, I then spent about 2 months following up, and was consistently told they were about to speak with the hiring manager and would have an update soon. Eventually, I was informed they were not moving forward. No feedback was given regarding my candidacy, which is unexpected for an executive role.
- What are your salary expectations?
Legal Knowledge Engineer
The interview process involved two half-hour interviews, focusing exclusively on cultural fit and background, with no technical assessments. One interview was a panel discussion. The questions centered on your motivations for applying and your interests and experience. There's limited time for questions from either side, so discussions remain relatively straightforward. Attempts to secure more time for conversation with individuals were met with evasiveness. A significant aspect is the mandatory two-year non-compete agreement post-employment, which is non-negotiable and introduced late in the process, despite being a common point of contention.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your interest in this position?
