It was a technical interview, more on the conceptual side. The person interviewing me was nice. I got a lot of chances to show what I know technically, how I think, and my conceptual understanding. There were 2 technical rounds in total.

So the interview process had a few parts: first a recruiter phone screen, then a quick 30-minute in-person chat with a senior dev. After that, there was a really long 4-hour on-site with 4 different pairs of interviewers, and then a 2-hour on-site with the CTO. I actually had to go in three separate times for the in-person parts, which was a bit unusual. The main 4-hour interview was tough mainly because it was so long, like 4 hours straight of problem-solving with no breaks, which was mentally draining. I didn't get much time to ask questions because as soon as one set of interviewers finished, another pair would show up. They really emphasize computer science fundamentals, and you need to know data structures really well. Questions covered things like memory hierarchy, data structures, and standard algorithms. All the questions were fair though, and I managed to solve them. It was also a bit weird because the interviews were in the open-plan office area, with other people working really close by, which felt awkward and stressful. I'm used to interviews being in a private room. The interviewers were nice and gave hints though.

I applied online. A recruiter got in touch and set up a phone screen with a software engineer. The call had standard behavioral questions and then technical questions about the role's tech. Be ready to explain everything in depth if asked. The interviewer was mostly okay, but I can see why people say he can be condescending. I advanced to the next stage, a 3-hour coding challenge. I won't give away details to be fair, but it's not too hard, just very time-consuming. After the coding test, they never replied, so I assume I didn't make it. They should have at least let me know.
