First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lindt & Sprüngli.
Sales
I was invited by phone to the HQ in Zurich for an interview. I asked via email about the recruitment process and if the first interview could be done by phone, given my 7+ hour round trip travel time. I got a brief reply welcoming me to Lindt, but not answering my question about the process. The interview was with 3 people: HR, Junior Manager, and Senior Manager. The first question was if the interview could be conducted in Swiss German, which seemed to highlight the company culture given I'm German and have never lived in German-speaking Switzerland. The interview lasted about 45 minutes. Afterwards, I was told there are two interviews and that the second one would also be in Zurich. I didn't make it to the second round, and my travel costs were not reimbursed. Overall, a very unclear process that I wouldn't recommend.
- Where do you typically see Lindt products in stores?
- If you were a Lindt product, which one would you be and why?
- What challenges did Lindt face in 2015?
Sales
It was pretty fast, straight forward and transparent. I got contacted by email, after submitting my CV, to schedule a phone interview with the potential line manager. It lasted less than 1h and was pretty average (my experience, what I am looking for, my achievements...) with no random questions. I got contacted that same day for a second round in person. I had two days to prepare a presentation with my analysis for some numbers I was given, and presented it in the second round to the Line Manager, Head of Unit and Sales Director. Had a brief HR interview that day as well. Four days later I got a phone call with the offer.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
Sales
had a first interview with the area manager and then with the sales director and HR. They spoke very highly of me, way more than just 'exposing' me to the candidate, but then they backed out and chose others. It's pointless to put on such a show if you're not sure.
- What type of negotiations do you handle?
- Which clients have you managed?
- Can you give an example of a negotiation that went well?
