Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lincoln Electric.
Technical Sales Engineer
I was interviewed at an engineering professional society convention. Initially, I interviewed for the technical sales role, but then I was referred to the engineering position. After I interviewed and passed that, I was brought in for an onsite interview. I was brought in with several other candidates. On-site, we were interviewed by four different people for the same position we applied for. Also, we talked to people who previously went through the program.
- Tell me about your background and why you are interested in sales?
- Can you explain the projects listed on your resume?
Sales Engineer
I got my first interview from a career fair. The first interview was an hour informational session and then a 30 minute interview. It was pretty conversational. After that, I was recommended for a second round, which was an online logic test. The final round involved a trip to Lincoln's headquarters. The first day was all about the company, tours of the facilities, and a tour of Cleveland. The second day had multiple 1-on-1 interviews. Those interviews were also conversational and went well. The company seemed really loyal to its employees and they all seemed to enjoy their jobs.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
Technical Sales Engineer
Started with a first round interview, then had an online aptitude test. After that, flew to Cleveland for the final round. It was round robin style interviews with senior sales management, really relaxed and conversational. We did a tour of the city, a tour of their headquarters facility, and had a nice dinner and lunch with current Trainees. Seems like everyone has fun and likes what they do. Great experience.
- Given that there's only one opening, why are you the best candidate compared to the others in your group?
