Marketing Assistant
I got an email asking if I was a fit and to interview, but the link didn't work and they basically said 'hurry up' because there were so many applicants. I scheduled it anyway. I got there 10 mins early, and nobody even acknowledged me for a minute. Someone finally asked why I was there, and after I said I was interviewing, I had to fill out a bunch of forms. They left the forms on a desk and didn't touch them for like 45 mins to an hour. Turns out they make multiple people come in at the same time for 15-20 min interviews. If you're last, you wait forever, which they do on purpose. I should've left then. The interview was pretty basic, just asked about my experience and what I'd bring to the company. But the kicker is, because it's direct marketing, the 'second interview' is a full day of working for free. That didn't seem worth it, so I passed. Just be aware of that if you apply. If that sounds cool, go for it, but I wasn't impressed with how unprofessional they were, especially making you wait so long for such a quick chat.
- What is your understanding of this company?
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- What unique value would you contribute to this company?
Marketing Specialist
The first interview was super easy with Heidi, who I think is the CEO. The second and third rounds happened on the same day. I was with another candidate and Zwade, and we had lunch to discuss the business structure. After the other candidate bailed, I had to drive Zwade around to do walk-around sales for Verizon, which wasn't what I expected or wanted because it's a commission position. They offered me the job after meeting with Heidi and Zwade again after our sales day. I told them I'd think about it, and they never called back, likely sensing my lack of interest due to their misleading ads.
- How would you be a valuable asset to this company?
- Tell me about your communication and interpersonal skills.
Account Manager
It was a 3 round process. First round was a quick 5 min interview with general questions. If you passed that, you had to shadow the top account manager for 8 HOURS! It felt really awkward going to strangers' houses to sell them Verizon Fios. You'd go out to lunch with the manager (you pay for your own food), then the manager drives you and the account manager to a random neighborhood. They leave you there for 8 hours to go door-to-door. During this, the account manager would ask random interview questions. Then, at a random house, they'd pretend to be from Verizon trying to get the homeowner to switch. It was embarrassing. After the 8 hours, they pick you up and drive you back. Then you fill out a questionnaire about what you learned. Finally, there's a 3rd round interview where they ask questions and decide. Don't bother, it's not worth the 9+ hours and embarrassment. They make you sign a waiver too, saying you won't get paid for the 9+ hours or reimbursed for any expenses.
- Can you tell me what fruit your personality would be and explain why?
- What are three strengths you possess and three weaknesses you have? Also, how do you plan to work on improving those weaknesses?
- In a medieval setting, would you choose to be a knight, a wizard, or a king/queen?
Account Executive
The hiring process is broken into three parts. First, there's a preliminary interview where you answer some personality questions. Then, there's a field day to see the daily operations of the role. Finally, there's a final evaluation to see if you get the job. The whole process was really informative and I liked how fun and passionate my interviewer was about his job.
- What are your long term career goals
- Can you describe your best and worst qualities
