My interview experience raised some concerns about organization and communication. The talent partner, SC, arrived late and rescheduled the interview on short notice. Before the rescheduled session, I was asked to turn off my camera, which felt unusual and inconsistent with standard interview practices. When I asked a question about what success in the role looks like, the response was dismissive and dismissively referred me back to the job posting instead of offering clarification. And I quote “I’m not sure what you’re asking . It’s all in the job description”. Not a good reflection on the company if talent partner can’t even piece together a good intelligent response to show basic understanding of the role. But okay. Last I checked that’s a standard interview question that candidates who are interested in the role can ask. This experience did not reflect a well-prepared or candidate-focused interview process.

Had a chat with HR about my background, ambitions, and a language test. Then talked with the manager about my background, ambitions, professional level, and understanding of the role. Did a role simulation as a restaurateur twice, with the team lead and an HR person. Had a final interview with the Head to discuss ambitions, company knowledge, and thoughts on what makes a good salesperson.

I had an initial chat with HR, where they asked some standard screening questions like why I wanted to work at Lightspeed, about myself, and my interest in sales. They felt I was a good fit and advanced me. They ended up combining the last two interviews, which was a bit hectic, but it sped things up. I then talked with two senior SDRs, who were pretty laid-back and easy to talk to, which helped calm me down before the mock call I had to do with them. All in all, the interview process was pretty smooth and quick, and not too stressful once I started talking with the hiring team.
