First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Life Time.
Senior Account Manager
It was a very informal but very personal interview. The sales manager didn't read questions from a company interviewing booklet; it was much more conversation-based. Not too many generic standard interview questions. I do much better when it's a flowing conversation vs a Q & A session filled with generic questions.
- Is winning or not losing more important to you?
Account Manager
So I had this first interview, and they mentioned there would be 3 more after it, all happening really close to each other within a few days. That was kinda crazy to expect with my current full-time job. Apparently, they were trying to hit a quota for new hires, so they needed everything done super fast. The interviewer seemed cool, and we actually got along fine, but the benefits they offered were pretty bad, and the salary didn't really match the crazy hours. You're expected to work every holiday except Christmas and Thanksgiving, and it seems like they want someone who has no life outside of work. Plus, they only give 8 vacation days, which is really not much for a job that demands at least 45 hours a week and requires you to work the last three days of every month.
- Can you share an instance where you assisted your team?
- What are your future aspirations within this company?
- What is your interpretation of our company's mission statement?
Account Manager
The whole interview was only 15 minutes long. About 5 minutes in, the interviewer just assumed I wouldn't be good at the job because I'm a wife and mother. She said since she's single with no kids, and the only successful salespeople there were also single with no kids, she didn't want to 'set me up for failure'. It's wild that a company that talks so much about 'fit lifestyle' and 'family fit lifestyle' has people who think I couldn't possibly be good at a job just because I have children. Having kids actually makes me want to work harder, be smarter, and more efficient so I can spend time with them. I went from really wanting to work for this company and looking for openings to I wouldn't recommend anyone apply here. That's just sad. Seriously, if you have a family, don't even bother applying.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What motivates you to pursue a career in sales?
- Have you been informed about the working hours and compensation for this role?
