Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Liberty.
Sales Associate
I was welcomed by the department head and the business manager on two separate occasions. At first, I was questioned about my previous experience and knowledge about the subject. It was based on how application of my practical knowledge combined with up-to-date awareness in the area is a must. The imperative part included mentioning how I would stand out among the hundreds of others applying for this position and proving to be an asset to the company. For the second round, the interview involved presenting personality and the professional edge to it. I was pleased to be answered incase of any queries from my side.
- How would you cope up with the experienced staff around you?
Sales Associate
So after I applied online with my CV and cover letter, I got a text about a video interview which was new to me. It had three questions with a time limit. A week later, I got a call saying I passed. Then I had to go to Liberty for a group and one on one interview, and bring something that links Christmas and Liberty. We all had five minutes to talk about our items, then they told us about Liberty's history. The Store Manager chatted with us, then we went for individual interviews asking typical questions like 'Why Liberty?', 'What do you like about Christmas?', and 'Give me a time where...'. Finally, we did a really hard crossword puzzle in groups.
- How would you handle a challenge?
- What is your motivation for applying to Liberty?
- What aspects of Christmas do you enjoy?
Sales Associate
We started with a group interview where we had to present something representing Christmas for five minutes. Then, we had a group discussion about what good customer service is and how to approach products. After that, there was a one-on-one interview with the Ground Floor manager. This was followed by a math test that took about thirty to forty minutes, all part of an assessment day.
- What do you know about Liberty?
- How would you handle an upset customer?
- How can one be a great team player?
