Instead of a formal interview, about 15 of us took a week-long class at the office. It was mostly self-study from a book where we practiced tax problems for different client scenarios. We also learned to use their software at actual desks in the office. The instructor, who was a franchise owner, likely observed our personalities and how well we picked things up. We had to pass a graded online test at the end.

So when I went for the co-op student position, they asked me about my coursework, my basic knowledge of taxes, and if I was detail-oriented. The interview was pretty chill, and then they showed me around the office.

The interview process was pretty standard, nothing out of the ordinary. They were fast to let me know the results. It was an in-person interview, lasting about 30-60 minutes, and I met with the general manager and the office manager.
