& Process

It was a two-stage process. First, a 30-minute call with the recruiter where we talked about my background, checked for fit, and discussed previous experience. Second, a technical interview online with the hiring manager focused on my technical skills for the role. It was a bit strange that the company VP made the final selection. The hiring manager was great, but the recruiter was slow to give feedback, needing a couple of follow-up emails.

I was really looking forward to interviewing with this organization. My research and their social media presence made it seem like a growing company with a good culture that valued its employees. The initial phone screen went well, focusing on my background and some general questions. I asked specific questions about the job, but unfortunately, the recruiter didn't have the answers and seemed unsure about the role itself. They mentioned a timeline for a second interview and whether I'd be moving forward. After the interview, I sent a follow-up email expressing my continued interest. Four weeks later, I followed up for an update, but received no response. I followed up again, and to this day, I haven't heard back. It's really disappointing not to get a response; the recruiter completely ghosted me. Recruiters ghosting applicants don't help their employer brand at all. I won't be applying for any more positions, and I've already told several people about my experience at Liberty. This really shows how they value people within their corporate culture – I'd advise others to stay away.

First, you gotta submit your application on the Liberty Mutual careers site. Then, the recruitment people check your resume to see if you're a good fit. If you look good, a recruiter or hiring manager might give you a call to chat briefly about your interest and if you basically meet the requirements. If you get past that, you'll have an interview, maybe online or in person, where they'll ask about your experience, skills, and if you'd fit in with the company vibe.

HR reached out first and told me about the company and perks, which sounded good, so I decided to move forward. After that, I had to do a recorded interview, and then I interviewed with a VP and a Director. The final step was an interview with the hired Engineer to see if we would work well together. Everyone was really nice and enthusiastic, and I enjoyed the experience overall.
