First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LG Electronics North America.
Software Engineer
We started with a quick intro, then went over some concepts. After that, we tackled a couple of problem-solving questions. I was given a question about the number of coins, and though I didn't get the optimal solution, the interviewer was really nice and encouraged me. I did manage to come up with a bruteforce approach.
- Could you explain some concepts of OOPS?
- Can you solve this problem about the number of coins?
Software Engineer
I had a phone call with HR, then arranged a meeting with the direct manager and an HR member. Most of the questions were about soft skills and how to handle difficulties during work. After the interview, a week later, they sent the offer letter and had a phone call to discuss salary and benefits. Only a few days were negotiable; the salary was strict.
- Do you prefer a micro-managing boss or one who isn't?
Senior Software Engineer
Applied online on 07/23, and by 07/26 I got an email for a skype interview, which was on 07/30. Then on 08/03 I got the onsite invitation. The onsite was on 08/14, and I got the offer on the same day! It was super fast because I already had an offer before even doing the onsite. They were really nice and decided quickly to give me the job. The onsite had 5 rounds of interviews. They even let me choose my meal from a menu before the onsite day. It was a really nice experience.
- Looking for C++ coding challenges, some interviewers might use Python for questions.
- Mainly experienced C++ programming questions, and a couple of interviewers opted for Python.
