First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LF Stores.
Stylist
I applied online and got a call for an interview within 2-3 days. There were two interviews: one was a phone call and the other was a Skype interview because I was at college. After getting the job, I had an "Orientation" where I met the manager and other employees. Then, I spent three hours "getting to know the clothes," which meant walking around the store and folding anything I saw, memorizing its general location. It was very boring, and I wasn't allowed to leave until the manager said so. There wasn't any other interaction besides initial greetings and when I was told I could leave. I should have known then this job would be a nightmare and it took a while to recover my confidence after working there.
- What would be your ideal outfit for a pool party?
- Which trends do you like the most?
- What are your go-to stores?
Sales Associate
The interview process was straightforward, though a bit lengthy. First, you submit your resume in person or online to an LF store. They'll contact you with details for an in-person interview. This initial interview was quite easy! They'll ask basic questions you can answer if you're genuinely enthusiastic about the brand and the role. Following that, you'll schedule a FaceTime call with the manager at the LF LA location, especially if you're not local. This FaceTime call is also simple, but the questions delve a bit deeper. I actually had two FaceTime calls because the manager wasn't available for the first one. Overall, it wasn't a bad process!
- What makes you want to join LF?
- Can you tell me about your personal style?
Stylist
First, I had a quick FaceTime call where they asked typical interview questions and some specific to fashion, like where I shop, my fashion influences, and why I want to work for LF. Then, I had an in-store interview. The vibe was super relaxed, and everyone was really friendly and welcoming. They asked about how to give the proper LF experience and about the outfit I wore. Finally, they had me put together an outfit from the store floor.
- Can you tell me about what you're wearing today and where you got it?
- What does good customer service mean to you?
Stylist
The interview process was quick and the interviewers were nice. They got back to me right away after the interview. They asked two questions, one quick and straightforward, and another that was longer but very relevant and felt like a normal conversation. They asked a lot of questions about styling customers, how to make customers feel comfortable, and improving social media.
- What are your ideas for enhancing our shop's Instagram presence?
- Can you share an example of when you styled a customer?
- How do you approach making clients feel at ease?
