First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LexisNexis Risk Solutions.
Business Analyst
I had a phone interview where I was given a PDF detailing the internship responsibilities. I was interviewed by someone who had a strong accent. The main focus was on a specific program, and they asked if I had experience with it. Since I didn't, the interview essentially ended there as a rejection.
- What's your motivation for wanting to intern at LexisNexis Risk Solutions?
Business Analyst
It's pretty straightforward if you're ready, but you end up talking to quite a few people. The good thing is it's all done over the phone. You start with a recruiter phone interview, and if you pass, they'll contact you for the next stage. This next part involves talking to three team members. The last person I spoke with asked for some proof of my past projects, so I had to email them. I'm still waiting to hear back about the next step, which will be another interview with someone else.
- What makes you want this job?
Technical Business Analyst
My role involved driving the definition, testing, training, and implementation of functional requirements. After implementation, I was responsible for knowledge transfer to production support teams. I created and revised deliverables like process maps, data flow diagrams, requirements specifications, project plans, status reports, use case scenarios, and acceptance testing. I documented marketing processes with swim-lane diagrams, developed user stories, and used wireframes for requirements elicitation. I also created and analyzed functional requirements using AGILE User Stories to translate them into technical requirements for the development team. I worked and communicated with technical teams (database developers, architects, QA, infrastructure) to ensure they understood and followed specifications. I created and executed communication plans for production releases and developed test cases, scripts, and performed user acceptance testing for data application projects.
