Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Levi Strauss.
Store Associate
I had a 15-minute chat with two HR people outside the Levi's store. The interview didn't seem focused on my skills or knowledge. Some questions were designed to create competition among colleagues.
- What would you do if we hired you tomorrow and you didn't know the answer to a customer's question?
- If you've already hit your sales target for the week and it's Sunday, and a colleague hasn't, would you pass a sale opportunity to them so they can reach their goal, or count it towards your own?
Store Associate
The interview process had a few steps. It started with a phone call with a manager, then moved to a group interview. Afterward, the manager individually informed us of the hiring decisions. During the interviews, they asked about our qualifications and skills and tried to get to know us. It was a good experience overall.
- Which product do you like the most?
Retail Associate
It was a good interview process with me and another candidate. The Levi's store manager asked us questions for about thirty minutes. She asked about our retail experience, our knowledge of Levi's history, our personal goals, what we wanted to learn from working there, and our previous employment history and experiences.
- Do you know the history of Levi's?
- Can you describe a negative situation with a past boss or supervisor and how you handled it?
