First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Levi Strauss.
Assistant Designer
The interview process went great. The recruiters are passionate about my work and we had good connections. I also got lots of positive feedback on my work. I'm still in a process of waiting for further information.
- Are you willing to relocate for this job?
Assistant Designer
I've had three interviews so far for a temporary Assistant Designer role at Levis corporate. The first two were phone calls, but the last one was on the Levis campus in San Francisco with three people, likely the designer and two assistants. I'm not sure how it went or if I got the job. They asked questions about denim and the typical 'Where do you see yourself in five years?' type of thing, which feels a bit out of touch given the current economic climate affecting fashion. One interviewer made a rude comment about the job being temporary and full-time positions being almost impossible at Levis, which was frustrating. It really seems like the disposable fashion industry just uses and discards assistants, merchants, and designers.
- Could you discuss your thoughts on denim?
- What are your five-year career aspirations?
Designer
I applied on their website for the Assistant Designer role and the whole process took 2 months. I got an email from HR and had a phone interview with them. Then I was given a skill test design project to work on for a week. After that, I had a zoom interview with the Design Director. Finally, I had individual interviews with 3 people from the design team, each lasting about half an hour.
- What is your motivation for wanting to join this company?
