The interview process at LevelUp was great. It started with a quick recruiter call. Then, I had a video call with a dev lead for a technical interview that included some coding questions. After that, I went to their office for the on-site interviews, which were a series of 4-5 short sessions. These sessions covered technical topics, including code review, system design, and behavioral questions. The people I met were all very friendly. The recruiter was also very helpful in answering my questions and keeping things moving.

I got to the virtual programming interview and thought it was going okay, but then I got rejected with feedback that didn't make much sense. The problems seemed easy and I got them right, though I probably could have done better if I had more time. The feedback mentioned I should have written tests, which I normally do for my code but wasn't asked to do here, and I figured I should just focus on solving as many problems as possible in the 45 minutes. They also said I didn't seem engaged because I didn't ask enough questions about the company, which I found odd since you can just look that stuff up on Glassdoor.

I had a phone screen with the recruiter. Then I was given an assignment about POST/GET endpoints. After that was a codeshare exercise. The final round was onsite. My recruiter was great and responsive. However, during the onsite interviews, the interviewers didn't seem very engaged. One of them even admitted he forgot the questions he was supposed to ask and we ended up working on a design question spontaneously. I found this very unprofessional, especially since the onsite interview is a significant time commitment, requiring me to take time off from my current job.
