I had to prepare a product pitch and ended up pitching to the sales manager. The pitch went pretty well since I did a lot of preparation. They didn't ask super tough questions. I felt like I understood a bit more than half of what the product could do. They asked to see if I had the app on my phone, which I did. Midway through the pitch, they paused to ask about my nervousness, then let me finish. After that, two enterprise salespeople interviewed me, focusing on my background and my motivation for a sales career. They got back to me quickly with an offer within a week, and their communication was very professional.

Behavioral Presentation

The hiring process kicked off with a brief phone screening where they asked about my background, previous roles, and motivation for joining their team. Following that, I had to deliver a short, five-minute presentation pitching their LevelUp product. This was conducted via Skype, simulating a business scenario where I was the salesperson and they were the client. It seemed to go adequately, and I was then invited for a one-on-one meeting with the COO. However, things got a bit strange just five minutes before our scheduled call; I received an email stating the COO had a conflict and the interview needed to be postponed. The rescheduled 1:1 did happen with the COO. He wasn't the most approachable person and only asked one thing, phrased more as a statement: 'tell me about yourself.' After I shared my story, he mentioned he just wanted to put a face to the name and concluded the meeting. I received an email from the recruiter indicating they'd follow up after the weekend, but I never heard back. I reached out again to inquire about my application status, as they had promised to contact me, but this follow-up email was also ignored. I'm quite disappointed with how this company handled their interview process and can't say I'm rooting for them. There are many companies in this space, and I hope someone does it better. It felt like this whole experience was a waste of everyone's time.

Behavioral Presentation Technical

I was first called for a short phone interview, which was pretty straightforward. After that, I was asked to prepare a 5-minute sales pitch and present it over Skype. I got through that round and felt good about the company and its culture; the people I met were positive and passionate, happy to answer my questions about their work. But then I had an interview with a top executive, and my initial positive impression faded. This executive was 15 minutes late for our personal Skype interview and didn't apologize, seeming to be in a bad mood. I tried to stay positive, talking about my background and what they wanted to know. But when I asked about the company, they were really vague and didn't seem engaged. The interview felt very one-sided. For instance, when I asked about their first few weeks, they just said 'Well it was just me and Seth (the CEO)' and nothing more. Later, when I asked about revenue goals, they gave general points but no specific numbers. It felt like I was prying into something I shouldn't be, which was strange for this role, given how vague they were about financial goals and models. During the interview, their video froze while they were speaking. When I pointed it out and asked them to repeat themselves, they just said 'I can see you fine, I don't know why it would have frozen' and continued talking, not seeming to care if I heard them. My enthusiasm for the company waned as I struggled to get simple questions answered, receiving only short or sarcastic responses. At the end, I wondered if they were testing me, maybe I'd get an offer? I didn't. I hope I was removed from consideration because my skills weren't a fit, not for some superficial reason. But my gut tells me they just didn't like me or something else happened right before to cause such unprofessional behavior.
